Better Days Ahead

Preacher Fred had a pretty good day today.  Fred's sister (Francis) and brother-in-law (James) from Sanford, NC assisted nurse Patsy today.  Fred's medication is issued with an antibiotic pump, which feeds his antibiotics through his PICC line. He is also taking two other antibiotics by mouth.  Fred continues to gain strength daily with the use of his leg motion machine (CPM).  The purpose of this machine is to work out and stretch the knee to certain degrees each day.  The doctor wants Fred to work out on the CPM for six hours a day.  Right now the motion machine assists Fred with bending his knee to 65 degrees.  His goal is to reach 120 degrees within the next couple of weeks.  Starting tomorrow Fred will being his physical therapy with a trainer.  With the help of the trainer and Fred's motivation to get better, the family continues to pray that God will guide his path.

  1. Preacher Fred,
    So glad to hear that things are starting to look up for you! I know your rehab will be tough, but just think of what you've already been through! This will be a piece of cake for you! May the Lord continue to heal you as only He can do! Take care & call if you need anything!

  4. Glad to hear you are doing better and are on your way to recovery. You have had many set backs, and I know it has been discouraging.. But keep on working that knee and soon you will be enjoying the things you love to do.. I know you love life and you have seen that "You can keep going long after you can't
    ." So keep fighting.. And keep going. I know it has been a long battle for you... but like you mama always said, what don't break you will make you stronger. I know you are not broke... Stay encouraged and stay motivated.. You and Patsy have a lot of people praying for you, You have helped so many people that I have heard people say, I want to do something, I just don't know what to do.. I tell them to Pray....Someone remembers, someone cares;
    Your name is whispered in someone's prayers!!!!!

    A bend in the road is not the end of the road... unless you fail to make the turn.. I see you making the turn and you are fighting to get better. Don't over do yourself, but get stronger everyday..

    When things go wrong as they sometimes will,
    When the road you're trudging seems all up hill,
    When the funds are low and the debts are high
    And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
    When care is pressing you down a bit,
    Rest if you must, but don't you quit.
    Life is queer with its twists and turns,
    As every one of us sometimes learns,
    And many a failure turns about
    When he might have won had he stuck it out;
    Don't give up though the pace seems slow--
    You may succeed with another blow,
    Success is failure turned inside out--
    The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
    And you never can tell how close you are,
    It may be near when it seems so far;
    So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit--
    It's when things seem worst that you must not quit."

    I love you preacher Fred- and praying daily for total healing...
